Community Outreach

At Christel House Academy we believe that by working with the child, the family and the community, a greater impact will occur. Parents are expected to volunteer and partner with Christel House to support the success of every child. Educational workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, nutrition and hygiene, substance abuse, parenting skills and HIV / AIDS awareness and prevention are offered to parents and students. The social worker acts as a liaison between school, family, and other community agencies in nurturing a child's normal growth and development.

Students at the Academy also find ways to improve their own community. You can download a movie (Apple mp4 format) to learn more about our Native American Mural project in the Concord Neighborhood.

The Christel House PTO is a volunteer, parent lead group, that works to assist the students of Christel House Academy. Each parent is encouraged to become active in the PTO. Opportunities exist in a variety of areas for parents, grandparents and other adult family members.
