Christel House Academy regularly looks for outstanding licensed teaching candidates.
Christel House teachers are expected to use a “no excuses” approach to teaching all children, especially those who are most difficult to teach. Teachers are given flexibility to be innovative and creative in the classroom, but there are very high and clear expectations for success.

We regularly entertain applications from professional looking to enter the teaching force through State approved Transition-to-Teaching programs. We also encourage unique and creative university students, who have distinguish themselves, to apply.
We occasionally hire mental health professionals and support staff.
Under qualified teachers, still working on licensure with the State, may qualify for non-licensed instructional employment.

Compensation
Unlike traditional public schools that pay teachers a little more each year to simply show up, Christel House teachers are rewarded for results.
Teachers are paid a competitive salary, but salary increases are based on results. Hard working and successful teachers get paid more. Mediocre teachers do not. It is a simple concept and one that rewards hard work and accomplishments... something that is missing in many local public schools.
In addition to a base salary, teachers frequently have opportunities to earn additional compensation by taking on additional responsibilities to coordinate subjects, coach sports, run after school clubs, tutor students, and take on teacher leadership roles.
At the end of each academic year, teachers also earn bonuses based on accomplishments and student performance. Exceptional teachers have the potential to earn thousands of extra dollars each year.
Pension
Christel House Academy participates in the Indiana Teachers' Retirement Fund-- the statewide pension plan for Indiana teachers.
In addition to the state guaranteed pension plan, Christel House Academy staff have access to an employer sponsored 403(b) plan with ING North America
TFG Financial Group, an ING Financial Partner, manages the ING 403(b) plan for Christel House. ING, Internationale Nederlanden Groep N.V., is a Dutch banking and insurance conglomerate based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

ADVANTAGE Health Solutions
The Advantage HMO Plan emphasizes health and wellness, to promote healthy lifestyles and improved health outcomes, while managing medical costs. The HMO Plan includes primary care physicians from a broad network of Physician Hospital Organizations (PHOs). With this plan, there is no deductible to meet - only nominal co-pay.
As an option, the ADVANTAGE POS Plan offesr employees the flexibility of a traditional insurance plan, but with cost containment features of a managed care plan. Employees can go to most in-network specialists without a PCP referral, but must meet a deductible.
Disease Management and complex case management are included without additional cost.
MetLife Dental
Metlife Dental insurance offers coverage at a national network of approximately 90,000 dentists' locations. Unlike many managed dental benefit programs, members have the freedom of selecting any dentist they want whether the dentist is in or out-of-network.
MetLife Vision
A Vision Discount Program is available through MetLife.
Employee Assistance Program (offered thru MetLife)
Employee & immediate family members are eligible for free assistance with this EAP program. The program is intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being. The EAP generally includes assessment, short-term counseling and referral services for employees and their household members.
Flexible Spending Account (offered thru Paychex)
Employees may participate in this program where certain medical out-of-pocket costs and day care expenses may be taken out of paycheck on a pre-tax basis, and reimbursed to employee.
Metropolitan Life Insurance Company - Life & Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Life and AD&D on the employee is paid by Christel House Academy for one time the employees base salary. Additional insurance, up to 5 times the base salary, is available for purchase at the group rate. Children and spouse plans are also available.
MetLife Short Term and Long Term Disability
Christel House Academy pays 100% of the Short Term and Long Term Disability for all employees.
Additional Insurance - Horace Mann
Horace Mann offers additional term and whole life policies at a discounted rate. Home owners and auto insurance is provided at a special rate if deducted though payroll.
